Send-off-a to Sendafa

In January 2014, I have the unique opportunity to go on a 9 day short-term missions trip to Ethiopia. I am part of a group of 12 from Living Word Community Church who are going to the village of Sendafa, about 30 miles northeast of the capital city, Addis Ababa. Sendafa is a village of about 15,000 people and is very poor. The average annual income of an Ethiopian is around $100 per year. The trip is from January 12-20.

Living Word has adopted the village of Sendafa for a multi-year project to help the people of Sendafa in a number of significant ways. Projects already underway include: helping 350 women with AIDS, supporting an elementary school of 3,000 children, strengthening the eight churches in the town, giving small business loans, and meeting various public health needs. We will be working among people and children in the village.

I am convinced that God wants us to do our part and make a difference in the world.  Ethiopia is the second poorest country in the world, and reaching out to the poorest of the poor is something that we all need to be involved in. God has blessed me greatly and I really want to share what He has given me with others. I truly want to make a difference in the world by going to Ethiopia.

Even though I will be a “missionary” for only a little while, just like other missionaries, I have to raise my own money to cover the cost of the trip by December 31. The total cost of the trip will be about $2,000. To raise the money, I wanted to give you the opportunity to be part of this experience. It is called being part of my “support team.”  If you would like to make a donation, please visit Click Here or go to http://www.gofundme.com/Sendafa

By helping me, you are part of everything I do and every life I touch. In a very real sense, you will be in Ethiopia with me! If you are unable to make a financial donation, I understand, but I would very much appreciate your prayers as I go. Thank you for your help.

Sincerely,

Kenna McClane
